Novorossiysk Insurance Company Nostra Ltd. was established in 1992 by Ingosstrakh (Moscow) and Novorossiysk Shipping Company (Novoship). Acting as an insurance company, Nostra started to work as a correspondent of P&I Clubs at Novorossiysk and Tuapse ports.

Over the years activity in other Russian Black Sea & Azov Sea ports has sensibly increased, nowadays such ports as Kavkaz, Taman, Temryuk, Rostov-on-Don, Yeisk, Taganrog, Azov, Gelendzhik, Sochi and Anapa are used for international trade.

During 2000-2017 cargo transshipment in 11 Russian ports of Black Sea and Azov Basin increased by 450% - to 270 million ton per year, of which Novorossiysk covers 147,4 million tons; Kavkaz – 35,3; Tuapse, 26,6; Taman – 14,9. Availability of our 4 offices in main ports allows us to provide quick service.

Over eight thousand cases (including more than one thousand claims) were carefully and reliably handled by us during the 27 years of operation. As a result, Nostra has gained substantial and unique experience in providing P&I Correspondent's and surveying services for various Clubs and clients, and it continues to develop as a customers-oriented company.

Nowadays, the company provides P&I insurers (GARD AS, West of England Insurance Services (Luxembourg) SA, British Marine and Lodestar Marine) with a fully independent and reliable correspondent’s activity, professional surveying services and competent consultancy. Besides, we closely co-operate with various Shipowners, ships’ Managers, Charterers, Time-charterers, insurance brokers and some other P&I Clubs on a case-by-case basis. To avoid a conflict of interests, we always stick to “one ship – one client” principle.

On the ground of the previous experience we have developed significant expertise in handling H&M, P&I and FD&D matters. It relates to arranging all kinds of cargo surveys (including prevention surveys), damage surveys, accident investigation and claims handling.
